I was scanning the news this weekend to find something inspirational to talk to you guys or girls and non-binaries on my Monday morning Podcast. I found this story that I thought was moving and maybe could move you too.
I found this story on the CBS NEWS page about a 25 year old woman from Kenya named Joyciline Kepkosgei who set the NYC Marathons second fastest course record at two hours-twenty two minutes and thirty three seconds.
If you find that hard to believe, check this out. Jepkosgei holds multiple records for running half marathons but hadn’t ever run a full marathon before. I’d say not to bad for her debut.
Just shortly after Joycilines fellow country mate Geoffrey Kamworor came in at 2:08:33 making it a Kenyan sweep of a race.
I find both of these runners to be very inspirational to me in the sense of if you set your mind to something and know in your heart to can win you may even set world records.
That’s just one writer’s opinion. What do you think? I would love to hear from you. Just write in the comment sections below. Until next time, I’ll talk at you later.
